Description

A Moeraki Boulder. These are found on the east coast of New Zealand.  They start way up in the hills and slowly make their way to the coast.  Over the space of about 3 years the cliff face will "give birth" to these boulders that can measure up to 2 1/5 m in diameter.  This one has been on the beach for a while, it's covered in barnacles. there are loads still whole.

I hope you enjoy this deviation as much as I enjoyed photographing it.
